At Sarah Ashton OT, we are accredited Mental Health Occupational Therapists (and mothers) who support others to make sense of and find meaning in modern motherhood. We support your mental health and maternal role adaptation including changes with your identity, emotional regulation, roles/responsibilities and relationships.

We are endorsed to provide Focused Psychological Interventions by OT Australia and Medicare, under the Better Access to Mental Health Care scheme.

Who is on the team?

  • Meet Sarah

Sarah is the Director and Lead Practitioner at Sarah Ashton OT. She is passionate about supporting women navigating the transition into and through motherhood. As an accredited Mental Health Occupational Therapist, Matrescence Coach, Neuroprotective Developmental Care Practitioner & Circle of Security Parenting facilitator she has additional knowledge to meet you where you’re at on your parenting journey.

She is passionate about dismantling the expectations of modern motherhood, and supporting you in realigning with your values, supporting your nervous system and finding wholeness.
She is warm and compassionate in her approach, and provides a safe and nurturing environment for you to heal and grow.

  • Meet Rachel

Rachel is a Mental Health Occupational Therapist, and Mama to a spirited toddler.

Her vision is to provide education and support to mothers as they navigate their new ‘occupation’ of motherhood: facilitating occupational balance, re-establishing identity, and nurturing the mother-baby dyad.

Rachel uses an integrated approach of psychological, somatic, and sensory practices, which are applied through a trauma-informed lens. Her therapy is rooted in attachment, guided by biologically normal infant and maternal development, and honours maternal wisdom.

Rachel has a special interest in neurodiversity, sensory overwhelm and presenting anxiety and mood challenges. She is expanding her knowledge in complex trauma and birth trauma.

She aims to create a warm, nurturing, and non-judgmental environment, fostering a sense of trust and safety.
